A project is underway in Tanzania to improve the education of girls at 60 schools in the country. The project will continue until 2012 and aims to help girls attend school – and stay at school long enough to finish their education.

Maua is nine years old and has been going to Naitolya Primary School in Makuyuni for a year.
Namayani is nine years old and lives in northern Tanzania.
Neema is six years old and is in Standard 1 at Naitolya Primary School in northern Tanzania.
Baby is 11 years old and started school just two years ago.
