Recent estimates of the number of children out of school have fallen by nearly 30 million since 2005, thanks to the concerted efforts of campaign supporters over the last few years!

Thank you to every school that took part in JOIN UP! in 2007. You have been part of a huge campaign that took us from Kampala to Kibera and Brussels to Berlin. Millions of people from around the world have been part of the campaign:

• 1 million of you JOINED UP
• Over 480,000 joined the online chain
• 15 million have joined the global campaign over the last 5 years

However, the current rate of progress is still too slow to meet the 2015 target of all the children in the world completing a primary education. With only 7 years to go to the Education For All target, there are still 72 million children missing out on education, with many millions more forced to drop out of school before they can complete even a primary education.
