What is Send My Friend?
Send My Friend to School is a campaign that has brought together hundreds of thousands of students and teachers in the UK who want the government to keep its promise and make sure that every child can go to school, no matter where they live in the world.
Send My Friend is run by lots of organisations, including charities and teaching unions, who all believe that education is really important. Find out who is involved.
What is the Global Campaign for Education?
It’s a huge global organisation working to get world leaders to keep the promise they made in 2000, that everyone should have the chance to get an education by 2015.
It has members in more than 100 countries around the world - Send My Friend to School is one of them. We will all be joining together to take part in 1GOAL activities in 2010.
What do we want?
We want world leaders to pay attention, to make plans and give money to education. We need education to be a top priority because time is running out – there are only five years until the 2015 deadline but 72 million children are still missing out on school.
At the current rate of progress there will still be about 56 million children out of school in 2015. Read more.
