Michou, from Haiti

Michou is 10 years old and lives in the Mariani district of Port-au-Prince. She and her family are already poor, but since the January 12th earthquake they have no home, no food, and just water from the stream.

Michou and her family are part of the 1 million
survivors who lost their homes. Despite their
loss, they are fortunate to still have their lives. More than 200,000 people died, and 300,000 people were injured in the earthquake.
